III. Lions Park Planning <br />Shayla Syverson, Parks Planner presented the Lions Park Master Plan and recapped previous <br />discussions about the plan. <br />Taylor made a motion, Brenner seconded to approve the Lions Park Master Plan. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />IV. Irish Avenue Park Plannin <br />Shayla Syverson, Parks Planner reviewed the history of Irish Avenue Park which included <br />resident meetings, mowed trails, groomed cross country ski trails and groups who have address <br />the parks commission on use for this property. Parks Commission members had an open <br />discussion for use of the park with the need of determining a master plan. <br />Discussion included figuring out a vision for the park, and doing some preliminary work with the <br />community, before hiring a consultant to plan the park. Strub requested staff to provide copies <br />of the comprehensive plan, White Bear Lake Athletic Facility Study and other resources for the <br />Parks Commission. <br />V. Park Rules <br />Scott Anderson, Public Works Director discussed current vandalism issues and late evening <br />activities regularly occurring at some of the parks. <br />All Commission Members discussed park rules and hours. <br />Strub made a motion, Rauschendorfer seconded to amend the Public Conduct in Parks <br />Ordinance to include the wording of "or hours as posted". <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />VI. Recreation Programs Update <br />Shayla Syverson, Parks Planner encouraged Parks Commission members to form a team and <br />participate in the Tour de Hugo bike ride on September 14, 2013. Registration has 130 enrolled <br />with more expected to sign up and register the day of the ride. <br />Movie night/Bonfire in the park is Friday September 27"', 2013 at the Hanifl Field Athletic Park. <br />VII. Recognition of Kris Birch <br />Jim Taylor thanked Kris Birch for his years of service and presented him with a recognition <br />Certificate. <br />
