Supports RC track
Kate Hanke
HUGO — I want to draw attention to a Hugo Parks
Commission meeting Aug. 12 so citizens can show sup-
port for a decision to put a track at Irish Avenue Park for
battery operated remote control (RC) cars. There is a per-
ceived belief that it will be a noise issue. These cars are not
loud and your car engine is actually louder. So is human
laughter. The park provides an opportunity for families
with [ween and teens to spend time together. As anyone
with kids these ages knows, the older they get the harder
it is to find activities that they won't scoff at. It also pro-
vides an opportunity for parents to teach the time and
skills around budgeting, purchasing, building and repair-
ing of the cars. I also posted a call for help on The Citizen
Facebook page to rally behind the RC track by getting a
group of people at the nest city of Hugo Parks Commis-
sion meeting 7 p.m. Aug. 12 at Hugo City Hall supporting
the decision to creapp laughter, fon and family time at Irish
Avenue Park. 6
