Neighborhood Meeting: Playground and Park Name
Staff recommends that the Parks Commission discuss and gather input from residents following the
playground presentations. The Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Commission should look to select one
playground company. Following the selection of one proposal, minor changes (such as the color) should be
discussed. Significant changes (such as changing a slide or adding swings) have an impact on the overall
budget and would require additional discussion with the playground designer at a future meeting.
Staff also recommends that a name be selected for the park, with the help of residents. At the Parks
Commission meeting of October 14, 2015, Len Pratt proposed that the park be named "McCollar Park" in
honor of former property owner. The Parks Commission discussed that it was not in keeping with the Park
Naming Policy.
THE PARK NAMING POLICY IS ATTACHED.
Parks Commission Agenda
April 13, 2016
