3. Lions Park Workshop <br />Denaway informed the Commission that the City Council will be setting the date for the Lions Park discussion <br />workshop at their March 7, 2016 meeting. Denaway provided the Commission with a brief review of the <br />planning process for Lions Park and asked the Commissioners to provide direction on what they would like to <br />discuss with the Council. The Commission agreed that important topics to discuss include phasing options, <br />costs, and funding options. They also agreed that it is important to ask the Council what vision they are <br />looking to achieve for the park. Denaway will share the scheduled date with the Commission at the April 13, <br />2016 Parks Commission meeting. <br />4. Missing Link Exercise <br />A 2016 goal of the Parks Commission includes reviewing and updating the Parks, Trails, and Open Space Plan <br />and identifying missing trail links. Denaway provided the Commission with maps that showed existing and <br />proposed trails and highlighted the missing connections between them. Denaway shared with the <br />Commission examples of how existing trails were constructed in Hugo and also provided insight into how and <br />when planned trails may be constructed in the future. The Commissioners discussed the importance of <br />adding missing connections and other missing trail segments to the Parks, Trails, and Open Space Plan so that <br />they would be included in the City's Comprehensive Plan. <br />5.
