Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for August 1, 2016 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />Haas recalled when the permit was renewed in 2012, the Council felt it would be expensive for <br />the Atkinsons to comply with all the conditions since mining was not taking place on the site. <br />They are required to comply if activity begins. <br />Haas made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the renewal of the mining permit for the <br />Atkinsons. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Yellow Ribbon Network Report <br />Council Member Chuck Haas and Council Member Phil Klein reportencil on the recent <br />activities of the Yellow Ribbon Network. *1,,,l 0' , <br />The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts helped with the packing event, as well as many other volunteers. <br />There were 43 packages and 1,280 pounds of items sent to the National Guard and Military deployed <br />in Djibouti Africa. July Hamburger Night was sponsored by Wilson Tool, and 125 meals were <br />served. The Hugo Lions are hosting a golf scramble on August 14, 2016 with the proceeds going to <br />the YRN. The YRN is receiving many other sponsors for the Welcome Home Pheasant Hunt, and <br />troops are signing up. <br />National Night Out on Tuesday, August 2, 2016° a g............ <M <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear informed Council that National Night Out is scheduled for <br />Tuesday, August 2, 2016. The Council is invited to ride along with the Fire Department to <br />various neighborhood events and should meet at the Fire Hall at 6:30 p.m. Staff has posted this <br />as a meeting of the Council in anticipation of Council's participation. <br />Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, August 4, 2016 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear informed Council that Congressman Tom Emmer will be <br />holding a town hall meeting on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers. <br />Staff has posted this as a meeting of the Council in anticipation of Council's participation. <br />Primary Election on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded Council the Primary Election will take place on <br />Tuesday, August 9, 2016. Polling sites will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voting locations are <br />the Fire Hall, Rice Lake Centre, City Hall, and Oneka Elementary, depending on where you <br />lived. <br />Wilson Tool Picnic on Saturday, August 13, 2016 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear informed Council they were invited to attend the Wilson Tool <br />Picnic on Saturday, August 13, 2016 beginning at 2:30 p.m. Staff had provided Council with a <br />schedule of events. At its July 18, 2016 meeting, Council approved a Certificate of Appreciation <br />and a resolution recognizing Wilson Tool's 50 year anniversary. The City of Hugo is on the <br />schedule of events to present the award at 6:00 p.m. <br />
