MINUTES FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON JULY 18, 2016 <br />Call to Order <br />Mayor Weidt called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Haas, Klein, Miron, Petryk, Weidt <br />ABSENT: None <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Bryan Bear, City Engineer Jay Kennedy, City Attorney <br />Dave Snyder, and City Clerk Michele Lindau �,RgAfl lk. <br />Approval of Minutes for the July 6, 2015 City Council Meeting <br />Petryk made motion, Klein seconded, approve the minutes for the July 6, 2016 Council meeting <br />as presented. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Approval of the Agenda <br />Weidt made motion, Miron seconded, to approve the agenda by adding an item to recognize <br />County Attorney Pete Orput, who appeared in an article in the Wall Street Journal. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Presentation of 133rd Air Wing of the Minnesota National Guard — Colonel Dan Gabrielli <br />Colonel Dan Gabrielli, Air Wing Commander, and Vice Wing Commander Colonel Bob Hagel <br />presented to Council on the 133rd Air Wing of the Minnesota National Guard and the 148th <br />Fighter wing in Duluth. He provided information on the history and readiness of the Air Lift <br />Wing. Both Gabrielli and Hagel have ties to Hugo with Hagel as a current resident and Gabrielli <br />as a former resident for 12 years. Both commented on the reputation Hugo has for supporting <br />the military, and they thanked the Council for their support of the National Guard. <br />Approval of the Consent Agenda <br />Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda items. <br />1. Approval of Claims <br />2. Approve Certificate and Resolution Recognizing Wilson Tool 50 Year Anniversary <br />3. Approve Six Month Extension of Internship for Administrative Intern Taylor Richter <br />4. Approve Resolution for Authorization to Apply for Metropolitan Council Planning <br />Assistance Grant <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />
