Date: Saturday, September 24, 2016 Time: Ride begins at noon Person: Russ Hanes 763-486-3079 In accordance with this permit, the applicant shall conduct the event as described herein and meet all conditions as stated below. DESCRIPTION An application has been submitted by Russ Hanes, coordinator for the Cruise for Troops Run. Cruise for Troops pays tribute to our fallen soldiers while raising money to help fund the education of the children who are left behind. The Cruise for Troops run is an event where hot rods, muscle cars, and motorcycles take part in a combined car and motorcycle cruise beginning and ending at Running Aces in Columbus, MN. The route outlined in the application will involve roads in Columbus, Hugo, May Township, Scandia, Marine on St. Croix, and Forest Lake. Roads in Hugo include CSAH 4, TH 61, CSAH 8, and CSAH 7. The applicant has secured deputies from Anoka County, Lino Lakes, and Washington County to be present at all major intersections. The Tour de Hugo bike run is also on Saturday, September 24. Staff has reviewed the route and event times and determined there should be no conflict. Tour de Hugo is expected to be completed by the time the Cruise for Troops travels through Hugo, and traffic will be going in the opposite direction from the bike event for the most part. CONDITIONS The applicant has provided the City the completed permit, fee, hold harmless agreement, and insurance. A permit has been obtained from Washington County for signage in the county right-of-ways. In accordance with this City of Hugo Special event permit, the applicant shall conduct the event as described in their application with no further conditions attached.
