Sandberg, P.E. <br />Deputy DirectodCounty, Engineer <br />We have reviewed and approved the Right of Way Permit application you submitted for event signage to be <br />placed in County right of way for the Cruise for Troops caravan. The event will be held on Saturday, <br />September 24th from 12:00 to 2:00pm. <br />Our focus is on safety, minimizing the inconvenience to road users, and providing good communication to <br />the traveling public on the Washington County roadways. This permit is for the placement of signs within <br />the highway right-of-way rather than for the ride itself, as such rides do not require permitting through <br />Washington County Public Works. <br />The approved permit is subject to the following permit conditions: <br />• All signs shall be set up prior to the start of the event. Any and all traffic signs placed within <br />County Right of Way shall meet all applicable standards for size, shape, color, and letter height. <br />Event signage shall be installed separately from any other structure or sign. <br />15 Washington County Sheriff Deputies have been hired for the event. Deputies have been <br />coordinating with event staff to determine the best locations for the placement of those patrols. <br />• Spray painting on roads, telephone poles and sidewalks is prohibited. Paint with chalk base or <br />water soluble material is acceptable. All temporary signage for the event must be taken down <br />the same day & removed from County (tight of Way by the next business day. Permanent <br />road signage including but not limited to speed limit signs, directional signs etc. shall not be <br />removed or covered with event signage. <br />• This permit is for Washington County Roads only. Event staff shall obtain any permits required <br />from municipalities affected by this event. <br />• A flyer will be delivered by event staff to residence on the route.
