12. Fiber to City Hall
13. F -business. e -data, e -applications, e -payments
14. Revised customer service delivery
15. New Communication strategy for emerging generations
Recommendations:
• The City's Comp plan will include significant involvement with the community, and will be
finished by the end of 2018.
• The way that residents and businesses are interacting with city hall is changing; we need to
ensure that our communication efforts are relevant, and that residents can conduct
business with the city in a way that is convenient for them.
Main Take Aways:
1. Congratulations, for getting this far.
2. The list is not finished... it's only scratching the surface, and we'd encourage Council to add
other items. The obvious point is that staffing and resources are limited. If there is consensus
on ideas that should be made as priorities, staff can certainly provide further information
including budgetary impacts for consideration during the summer budget workshop.
3. The idea is to convey what's possible. The City can provide more services or fewer services
with council direction. If the Council would like to have a deeper discussion of the flat tax
rate, discuss adjustments to the flat tax rate, or review other taxing methods, we can do that
in a separate workshop.
