Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for January 3, 2017 <br />Page 7 of 8 <br />increase in 2017. The building department conducted 3,278 inspections last year, including the <br />ones for Lino Lakes, Lake Elmo and Scandia. Lake Elmo has recently has hired an inspector so <br />those inspections will not be done in the future. There are currently 133 single family units and <br />132 multi -family available units available, and there are many more projects coming. There have <br />been eight residential projects approved, or are in the process, and five nonresidential projects <br />totaling 24,805 square feet of new commercial. Foreclosures continue to decline and account for <br />less than 1% of the homes in Hugo. Leitz talked about the completed projects of the Beatification <br />Subcommittee which include the new banners and logo, and evaluation of entry monuments, <br />gateway elements, and the TH61/CASH 4 roundabout. <br />Update on the Yellow Ribbon Network <br />Council Member Chuck Haas and Phil Klein reported to Council on the Yellow Ribbon Network <br />activities held recently. Haas talked about the work of the YRN to provide furniture to military <br />families in need. The YRN has received 100 pounds of coffee from the Blaine and Lino Lakes <br />Caribou Coffee shops which will be sent to the troops. The YRN's reputation has led a company- <br />wide care package event at Blattner Energy. They will be supplying 3,400 care packages, including <br />postage, for the YRN to send to individual service members. Hamburger night is the fourth <br />Wednesday of the month, which will be January 25, 2017. <br />Approve Cancellation of January 16, 2017 Meeting Due to the Martin Luther King Day <br />Holiday <br />Every year, the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday falls on the same day as the Council's second <br />monthly meeting in January. City Administrator Bryan Bear informed staff there are no agenda <br />items for this meeting and recommended Council cancel its regular meeting on January 16, 2017. <br />Klein made motion, Petryk seconded, to cancel the January 16, 2016 City Council meeting. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Council Goal Setting Session on January 17, 2017 <br />Annually, the Hugo Council holds a Goal Setting Session in January to develop goals and <br />priorities for 2017. City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded Council they had scheduled the <br />Goal Setting Session for Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. <br />Schedule Hugo Fire Department Banquet for Saturday, January 21, 2017 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear informed Council they had been invited to attend the Hugo Fire <br />Department annual banquet on Saturday, January 21, 2107 at the Split Rock Entertainment <br />Center (formerly Stars and Strikes), 5063 273rd Street, Wyoming. Bear recommended Council <br />schedule the Hugo Fire Department Banquet as a meeting if they wished to attend. <br />
