BACKGROUND: Memorandum The Forest Lake Wavemakers has applied for a Special Event Permit for approval of a 5K Color Run on Saturday, June 4, 2016. This requires a Special Event Permit approved by Council because the event is expected to draw between 300-500 participants and there will be amplified sound. 2. DESCRIPTION OF EVENT: The 5K Color Run is a fundraising event to be put on by the Forest Lake Wavemakers to support the Forest Lake High School's aquatics program. The event will take place at Woodloch Stables from 8 a.m. to noon. The Forest Lake Wavermakers have partnered with My School Color Run, who provide consulting services on run events, as well as forms and supplies. As part of the color run, color will be sprayed on participants along the course, and a powered color will be used for the final celebration. The applicant has provided a detailed description on the event, which staff finds acceptable. 3. REQUIREMENTS: The applicant has provided the City the completed application, hold harmless agreement and permit fee. In accordance with this permit, the applicant shall conduct the event as described herein and meet the following conditions: Prior to the Event 1. The applicant shall provide the City a copy of the insurance for the event naming the City of Hugo as additionally insured. 2. The applicant shall install temporary directional markers and caution signs along the route. During the Event 3. The applicant shall conduct the event in accordance with the approved plans submitted with the application.
