Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for March 6,2017 <br /> Page 4 of 6 <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the annual <br /> performance review for Building Department Receptionist Debi Close. <br /> Approve Special Event Permit for the MS150 on Sunday, June 11, 2017 <br /> The MS Society had applied for a Special Event Permit for their annual bike event. This requires <br /> a permit because there will be between 3,500-4,000 riders, and trails and streets in Hugo will be <br /> used. The event is a 150 mile two-day ride from Duluth to White Bear Lake. The second day of <br /> the event, riders will be traveling through Hugo on the Hardwood Creek Trail and the shoulder <br /> of TH61 between 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. MS Society has provided the City the completed <br /> application, permit fee, hold harmless agreement, and insurance naming the City as additionally <br /> insured. In addition, prior to the event the applicant will provide the City copies of the approved <br /> permit from Washington County for the use of the Hardwood Creek Trail and from MnDOT for <br /> the use of the shoulder on TH61. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Special Event <br /> Permit for the NIS 150 bike event to be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017 <br /> Approve Creation of Pool Ordinance by the Ordinance Review Committee <br /> City staff had been receiving many inquiries regarding Hugo's pool requirements. The City does <br /> not have an official ordinance related to these requirements and staff believed that one should be <br /> drafted. Special provisions will surround setbacks, impervious surface, and location of noise <br /> causing systems such as pumps. The Ordinance Review Committee met on February 9, 2017 <br /> and agreed that the City should begin drafting a pool ordinance. Adoption of the Consent <br /> Agenda approved the preparation of a pool ordinance for Council review and approval. <br /> Approve Hiring of Sarah Rumppe as Community Development Intern <br /> On February 14, 2017, the Community Development Department met with applicant Sarah <br /> Rumppe for a position as a Community Development Intern. Sarah's responsibilities would be <br /> assisting the department in the 2040 Comprehensive Plan updates and other related duties. <br /> Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the hiring of Sarah Rumppe as an intern in the <br /> Community Development Department beginning spring 2017. <br /> Approve Advertisement for History Intern <br /> Over the past several years, the Historical Commission had been considering hiring an intern to <br /> perform data entry duties related to collected historical pictures, documents, and oral histories. <br /> One of the Council's goal for 2017 is to evaluate the future of the Hopkins Schoolhouse. <br /> Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the advertisement for a History Intern to work on <br /> these history related projects. <br /> Approve Plans and Specifications, and Authorize Advertisement of Bids for the North <br /> Sunset Lake Improvement Prosect <br /> A meeting was held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 with the residents in the north Sunset Lake <br /> street project area.
