Event Description The Hugo and Oneka Color Run is a fund-raising event for the Oneka Elementary and Hugo Elementary school. Students and families will get donations and earn rewards for the amount of money raised for participation in the 5K run/walk. The run will take place on Oneka Parkway beginning at the school, south along the east side of Oneka Parkway to Frenchman Road, north along the west side of Oneka Parkway, and ending back at the school. Washington County Deputies will be stationed at the halfway point of the race, at the Frenchman/Oneka Parkway intersection, and the Oneka Parkway/Farnham Road intersection. Adult crossing guards will be at all other intersections to block any traffic from entering onto Oneka Parkway and to direct runners. There will be four color stations along the route where participants are sprayed with a non-toxic water-soluble color. Registration will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The race will begin at 10 a.m. and there will be a post -race party until 12 p.m. Parking will be at the front entrance of the school and the event activities will be held in the busing area where there will be a DJ playing from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Muffins, apples, bananas and water will be supplied free of charge by Meister's Bar and Grill in Scandia. Two 10' X 20' tents will be used and there will be an inflatable arch at the beginning/end of the race. Additional Information • We estimate 800 people will attend. • We will need road crossing barriers delivered before 8:00 am the morning of May 6th for each of the 6 Oneka Parkway intersections, (15) total barriers. (4) at Frenchman/Oneka Parkway intersection, (1) at 149th/Oneka Parkway intersection, (4) at Farnham/Oneka Parkway intersection, (1) at the Northern Farnham/Oneka Parkway intersection, (4) at Heritage/Oneka Parkway intersection, and (1)at 159th/Oneka Parkway intersection. • No Parking and Race In Progress signs will be used to direct car traffic away from race course.
