Event Description <br />The Hugo and Oneka Color Run is a fund-raising event for the Oneka Elementary and Hugo <br />Elementary school. Students and families will get donations and earn rewards for the amount of <br />money raised for participation in the 5K run/walk. The run will take place on Oneka Parkway <br />beginning at the school, south along the east side of Oneka Parkway to Frenchman Road, north <br />along the west side of Oneka Parkway, and ending back at the school. Washington County <br />Deputies will be stationed at the halfway point of the race, at the Frenchman/Oneka Parkway <br />intersection, and the Oneka Parkway/Farnham Road intersection. Adult crossing guards will be <br />at all other intersections to block any traffic from entering onto Oneka Parkway and to direct <br />runners. There will be four color stations along the route where participants are sprayed with a <br />non-toxic water-soluble color. <br />Registration will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The race will begin at 10 a.m. and there will be a <br />post -race party until 12 p.m. Parking will be at the front entrance of the school and the event <br />activities will be held in the busing area where there will be a DJ playing from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. <br />Muffins, apples, bananas and water will be supplied free of charge by Meister's Bar and Grill in <br />Scandia. Two 10' X 20' tents will be used and there will be an inflatable arch at the <br />beginning/end of the race. <br />Additional Information <br />• We estimate 800 people will attend. <br />• We will need road crossing barriers delivered before 8:00 am the morning of May 6th for <br />each of the 6 Oneka Parkway intersections, (15) total barriers. (4) at Frenchman/Oneka <br />Parkway intersection, (1) at 149th/Oneka Parkway intersection, (4) at Farnham/Oneka <br />Parkway intersection, (1) at the Northern Farnham/Oneka Parkway intersection, (4) at <br />Heritage/Oneka Parkway intersection, and (1)at 159th/Oneka Parkway intersection. <br />• No Parking and Race In Progress signs will be used to direct car traffic away from race <br />course. <br />
