Five bids were received. The bids were checked for mathematical accuracy and tabulated. <br />It should be noted that the project was bid with a Base Bid and two Bid Alternates for the types of oil used <br />on the bituminous surfacing. The recommended basis of award is the Base Bid plus Bid Alternate 1. <br />Please find enclosed the bid tabulation indicating the low bidder as T.A. Schifsky & Sons, Inc., North St. <br />Paul, Minnesota, with a total bid in the amount of $1,273,990.06 (Base Bid plus Bid Alternate 1). The <br />Engineer's Estimate for the project was $1,430,849.75. <br />We recommend that the City Council consider these bids and award a contract for the Base Bid plus Bid <br />Alternate 1 in the amount of $1,273,990.06 to T.A.
