All open, off-street parking areas of five or more spaces shall be landscaped in <br />accordance with Section 90-181. <br />(3) Lighting <br />a. Exterior lighting shall be directed down and shielded (downcast cut-off fixture) from <br />adjacent properties and roadways and shall be in accordance with Section 90-239. <br />b. The maximum height of parking lot lighting adjacent to or within residential areas <br />shall be 20 feet. <br />(e) Number of Spaces Required. <br />(1) Calculating Parking Space Requirements. In calculating parking space requirements, the <br />following rules shall apply: <br />a. When determining the number of off-street parking spaces results in a fraction, each <br />fraction shall constitute another space. <br />b. In facilities where patrons or spectators occupy benches, pews, or similar seating <br />facilities, each 24 inches of such seating facilities shall be counted as one seat for the <br />purposes of determining parking requirements. <br />c. For structures containing two or more types of uses, the parking requirements shall be <br />determined independently, and combined to determine the total off-street parking <br />spaces required. <br />d. On -street parking shall not be used when calculating the number of parking spaces <br />require for a use, unless approved by the City Council. <br />(2) The minimum number of parking spaces designated in the following table shall be <br />provided for the use specified, unless the property is part of a shared parking system or a <br />variance is granted by the City Council. Fractions over one-half shall be count as one <br />additional space.
