MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENTS - SPECIAL MEETING <br /> September 29, l987 <br /> The special meeting of the Board of Zoning Adjustments was called to order <br /> by Chairman Potts at 6:30P11. <br /> Present: Olson , Sonnenfeld , Potts <br /> Mr. Mark Duchene has applied to the City for a variance to construct a <br /> garage at 6890 177th St. , Hugo, described as the west 330' of the NW 1/4 <br /> Of the NE 1/4, Section 4, T31N, R211A. The proposed building would be <br /> nearer to the road than the principal residence. Mr. Duchene' s original <br /> site plan indicated the garage would be 70' from the road , after some <br /> discussion , it was determined that the best location for the building <br /> would be to turn it in an easterly direction to avoid removing a tree. The <br /> setback has been reduced to 60' with this change. The location of the <br /> garage is restricted to the area on the site plan because there is a pond <br /> and well on the west side of the home, a mound septic system on the east <br /> and low land directly north of the home. <br /> Potts made motion , seconded by Olson , to recommend approval of the <br /> variance request of Mark Duchene, 6890 177th St. to construct a garage to <br /> within 60' of 177th St. with the following conditions; <br /> 1 . Variance is granted due to the hardship imposed by the land itself . <br /> There is open water in the area noNnmally used for a garage. <br /> 2. Use of the garage shall conform torall existing codes. <br /> 3. Applicant is not to start building until council approval and the <br /> necessary building permits are obtained . <br /> 4. The site plan has been changed : <br /> A. The garage now sits at a 45 degree angle <br /> B. Point A of the garage shall be 60' from the front property line. <br /> C. Point B of the garage shall be 30' west of the west side of the <br /> house. <br />
