OCIb <br /> The Board of Adjustments meeting was called to order by Chairman Olson at <br /> 6:00PM. <br /> PRESENT: Barnes, Olson <br /> ABSENT: Ellman <br /> Motion made by Barnes, seconded by Olson to approve the minutes of March <br /> 28, 1.990 as amended . <br /> All aye, motion passed . <br /> Mr. Kieth Iverson of the Sussel Corp. on behalf of James and Beth <br /> Mitchell , has applied to the City of Hugo for at variance to the rear yard <br /> setback from 30 ft. to 24 ft. at the residence located at 14964 Foxhill <br /> Ave. The Mitchell ' s are proposing an addition to the rear of their <br /> existing residence. The property is zoned SFU ( 10,400 sq . ft. ) . <br /> Mr. Iverson represented the Mitchells with regard to this request. He <br /> stated that they are proposing the addition to their kitchen area and <br /> family room. Area resident Leon Muellner questioned whether a deck would <br /> be constructed after the addition is complete. Mr. Iverson informed the <br /> audience that any deck would be constructed to the north of the addition <br /> and would not approach the east property line any further. <br /> Motion made by Barnes, seconded by Olson to recommend approval of the <br /> request for a variance to the rear yard setback to 24 ft. for James and <br /> Beth Mitchell , 14964 Foxhill Ave. to construct an addition to their <br /> existing home. <br /> All aye, motion passed . <br /> Robert and Cynthia Elsola have applied to the City of Hugo for at variance <br /> to construct their residence 160' from South School Section Lake rather | <br /> th th i Cl200' tb k Th Clh it i hi h ti / <br /> an e requ re se ac . e propose omes e s a g er por on | <br /> of the property and would allow them to be farther from the road . They | <br /> � <br /> are also requesting a variance to construct a garage 816 sq . ft. rather � <br /> than the allowed 720 sq . ft. The proposed garage will be used for � <br /> personal storage only . The property is zoned conservancy and agriculture. <br /> Mr. Elsola stated that the building site at 160 ft. setback is at more <br /> aesthetically pleasing location for the home and also, theDNR requires a <br /> 150 ft. setback from the lake. <br /> Members of the zoning board felt there was no valid hardship to the land <br /> which would require a variance. They did feel the request for the <br /> oversized garage was a reasonable request. <br />
