Motion carried. <br />Approval of the Agenda <br />Weidt made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the agenda as presented. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Presentation of 2016 Audit Report"- Jason Mill&.Smith Schafer & Associates <br />Jason Miller from the independent accounting firm of Smith Schafer & Associates presented the <br />Council with a recap of the audit of the City's finances for the 2016 fiscal year. Jason stated the <br />audit was very efficient and smooth, and Hugo is one of the best City audits they perform. Jason <br />reviewed revenues, expenditures, and general fund reserves stating Hugo's reserves are 60%, <br />which exceeds the state auditor's recommendation of 35-50%. Miller commended the Council <br />and Finance Department on the healthy operations of the City. In summary, he stated it was an <br />unmodified audit opinion, and there were no Minnesota legal compliance exceptions. <br />Miron made motion, Klein seconded, to formally accept the 2016 City Audit as recommended by <br />Finance Director Ron Otkin. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Swearing in of New Fire Department Engineers and Chief Engineer <br />Firefighters Ron Gray, Rick Gregoire, Tom Kaspszak, and Roly Guareschi had been selected to <br />fill engineering roles on the Hugo Fire Department, and Firefighter Doug Millard to fill the role <br />of Chief Engineer. <br />
