Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for July 17,2017 <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br /> Fire Chief Kevin Colvard performed the swearing in of the new engineers and chief engineer. <br /> He provided information on the roles of the engineers and what it took to earn that designation. <br /> He and the Council commended them for their work and talked about the importance of their <br /> commitment and the commitment of their families. <br /> Recognition of Bald Eagle Sportsmen's Association Donation to the YRN <br /> Bald Eagle Sportsman Association held an open house on Saturday, June 4, 2017, during which <br /> they collected donations for the Yellow Ribbon Network from the club and guests who visited <br /> that day. David Arcand from BESA explained they were celebrating their 751h anniversary of <br /> incorporation. The club has done well and has about 800 members. It is a completely volunteer <br /> association, and they are always looking for ways to improve what they do and help out in the <br /> community. <br /> On behalf of the YRN, Haas thanked them for the donation. <br /> Recognition of Planning Commissioner Bob Rosenquist <br /> At its June 19, 2017, meeting, Council accepted the resignation of Planning Commissioner Bob <br /> Rosenquist after 21 years of services. City Administrator Bryan Bear explained that Bob had <br /> begun his service in June of 1973 when the City first incorporated and had worked on the first <br /> Comprehensive Plan for the City. Meetings were held at the Hopkins Schoolhouse, which <br /> served as the town hall. Bob resigned after five years, and joined the Commission again in 2001. <br /> Bob is still currently serving on the Washington County District Conservation Board. <br /> Planning Commissioners Scott Arcand, Bronwen Kleissler, Ron McRoberts, and Corky Lessard <br /> were in attendance and individually spoke about their experiences working with Bob on the <br /> Commission. Council presented Rosenquist with a plaque thanking him for his years of <br /> volunteer service. <br /> Mayor Weidt called for a short recess. <br /> The meeting reconvened at 8:09 p.m. <br /> Approval of the Consent Agenda <br /> Miron made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda items. <br /> 1. Approval of Claims <br /> 2. Approve Application for Lawful Gambling Exempt Permit for Family Pathways <br /> 3. Approve Resolution Approving an Encroachment Agreement for 13546 Fiona Circle North <br /> 4. Approve Proposal to Update the Alternative Urban Area Wide Review for Everton Avenue <br /> All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />
