For each
loan payment PCU accountholders skipped, $5 of their processing fee was donated to Second
Harvest.
PCU presented the check for$4,459 to Second Harvest on March 20`h, giving them enough
money to pay for more than 17,000 meals. "'This promotion was well received because it gave
our members the opportunity to help those in need while freeing up a little money of their own,"
said PCU President Russ Plunkett. "'This is just one of many ways PCU members, employees
and volunteers help support the communities we serve."
Second Harvest Heartland is the region's largest hunger relief organization, serving more than
300 non-profit agencies in 61 counties in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The organization operates a
variety of programs designed to combat hunger through specific channels of distribution. Among
those served are children, the elderly, the working poor and thousands of additional
disadvantaged rnerabers of the communities in its area of service.
tb
