New Release for school supply donations
PCU Donates School Supply-Faller Backpacks to Focal Shelters
(Woodbury, MN—September 22, 2005) Each fall students return to school armed with a wealth
of school supplies which are essential for a successful school year. Unfortunately, not all
families have the means to provide these items. To help fill that void employees of Postal Credii
Union (PCU)recently purchased, filled and donated 30 backpacks to local shelters and school
supplies to local schools in the greater St. Paul metropolitan area.
Each backpack contained a variety of school supplies, such as pencils, notebooks, a ruler,
colored markers, pocket folders, and more. Employees were asked to pick up extras while
shopping for their own students prior to the start of the school year.
"It's important for students to have the supplies they need to be successful," said PCU President
Russ Plunkett. "So often teachers will buy extra supplies to have in the classroom for those in
need, and pay for them out of their own pocket. Our employees enthusiastically embraced this
oppmunity to help fill that gap."
1
