11 ' COMPREHENSIVE
Page 2
Council's and Commissions' Roles
At the recent Council and Commission meetings, the groups conducted
an exercise to analyze the strengths , weaknesses, opportunities, threats,
and visions (SWOT) for Hugo. The residents of Hugo were also asked to
do the same analysis and provide the City with the results. This gives the
City a good idea of how to set goals, outlines what people's vision is for
the future of Hugo, and provides a basis for the background that the
Comprehensive Plan will reflect. Each Commission is responsible for
making decisions and recommendations about specific elements of the
Comprehensive Plan. Once the plan is adopted, the Commissions' use
the plan as the basis for making decisions related to development.
You can find the SWOT results from the residents, Council and Commis-
sions' on our website at our 2008 Comprehensive Plan page. The City
will continue to solicit comments from the public throughout the Com-
prehensive Plan Process.
The Goal Setting and Visioning Process
At the Public Workshop on Thursday, April 26 comments from the pub-
lic, Council, and Commissions' on the SWOT analysis will be re-
"Never doubt capped.
