The public is invited to <br /> HOUSE <br /> listen to the discussion between the Planning Commission and <br /> the City Council at the work session. July 23, 2007 <br /> Meeting Update <br /> The Council and Planning Commission will be presented a draft <br /> future land use plan that was worked on at the previous joint visit The city <br /> meeting on July 19, 2007. The reason for presenting the land use Website <br /> plan is to provide a working draft of a plan that the public, Your Role As A <br /> Council, and Commissions can work with at the later meetings Citizen <br /> on the 2008 Comprehensive Plan. With the new future land use '""""""""""""""" <br /> plan many parcels have changed in terms of a land use cate- <br /> gory. Most changes to the land use are not significant and are <br /> simply a name change, but others are complete land use <br /> changes. <br /> There will also be discussion on the City's growth management <br /> policy regarding the location and rate of future development <br /> occurring in the City. <br /> What is Infrastructure? Woo', <br /> It is a term for the public improvements made to a community <br /> such as sewers, roads, bridges, and public utility installations. <br /> At the August 23 meeting, the Council and Planning Commis- <br /> sion will be presented with the current infrastructure in the City <br /> and will have discussions on the future infrastructure. These <br /> plans will include the sewer and water systems, possible future <br /> transportation corridors, and ideas for water conservation. <br /> Transportation will be talked about in terms of existing planning <br /> efforts for major corridors in the City and planning efforts for <br /> future corridors for the City. There will also be discussion on <br /> the needs for locations of future water towers and how much wa- <br /> ter storage is needed for the towers. The presentation of the in- <br /> frastructure plans for the City will also include a discussion of <br /> financing. <br />
