Welcome to Hugo <br /> Activity: Banners/hanging baskets for street lights <br /> At the June 18, 2007 EDA and City Council meeting is was decided that 1) the <br /> City use Main Street Designs to supply banners and work with them to refine a <br /> banner design; 2) the City review the banner design and invite representatives <br /> from the HBA and Lions Club to decide on final design with the CSAH 8 <br /> Landscape Committee; 3) the City place banners on every other light pole on <br /> CSAH 8 between Oneka Pkwy. & TH61 reducing the number of banners needed <br /> to 55, and hanging baskets to be placed on every light pole in 2008; the City <br /> consider purchasing another banner with a seasonal/holiday design and allow the <br /> Lions & HBA to discuss special event/promotional banners; and 4) if approved by <br /> Council, and following review by the CSAH 8 Landscape Committee, staff will <br /> order street banners for installation within 4-6 weeks. It was approved by the <br /> Council and Chris Petree, the Public Works Director is working on completing <br /> these tasks and will update the EDA at that time. <br /> Timeline: Spring 2008 for hanging baskets <br /> August/ September 2007 discussion with clubs <br /> September/October 2007 to order banners <br /> Activity: Welcoming entry monument signs into Hugo <br /> Staff will continue to bring the designs for any proposed entry monument signs to <br /> the EDA for their review. Staff will also continue to encourage developers that <br /> propose projects at the entry points into the City to have an entry monument sign <br /> for the City. <br /> Timeline: On going and 2007 with the Oneka Square Project <br /> Activity: Give "Welcome to Hugo"bags to new home owners <br /> Staff will continue to give out"Welcome to Hugo" bags to new home owners in <br /> the City. The HBA has stated that they are working on having welcome kits to <br /> give out to new businesses. <br /> Timeline: On going <br /> Downtown Development <br /> Activi : Work with property owners and possible developers of downtown Hugo <br /> Staff has been in contact with many of the property owners of the downtown area. <br /> Staff will continue to inform the property owners in the downtown area of the TIF <br /> District and encourage redevelopment of vacant properties.
