OBTAINING A BUILDING PERMIT <br /> DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR SUBMITTAL: <br /> 1. Two sets of complete construction plans. The annexation area must also submit one set reduced to <br /> 11X17 (total of 3 sets). One set will be returned with comments/corrections. <br /> 2. Two sets of the proposed grading plan/survey. See grading plan handout for requirements. Include <br /> the building setbacks on the grading plan/survey. <br /> 3. Annexation area must also submit a copy of the Architectural Review Board approval. <br /> 4. Building permit application filled out completely. Any pertinent information that is not filled in <br /> will cause application to be rejected. <br /> 5. Copy of current Minnesota contractors license,plumbers license, excavator(sewer and water) <br /> license, or HVAC license. Excavation and HVAC licenses must be obtained with the City of <br /> Stillwater. <br /> 6. When the building permit is ready to be picked up, we will contact you. <br /> 7. A signature is required on permits, so they must be picked up. We do not mail them out. <br /> 8. The building permit and inspection sign off card must be posted on the job site. <br /> 9. All construction sites must have the house number clearly marked from the start of construction. <br /> This is an emergency vehicle safety requirement. <br /> SEPARATE PERMITS ARE REQUIRED FOR MECHANICAL AND PLUMBING. <br /> ELECTRICAL PERMITS ARE REQUIRED AND ARE ISSUED BY THE STATE BOARD OF <br /> ELECTRICITY DEPARTMENT-651-284-5064. <br /> SEWER AND WATER PERMITS ARE TO BE SUBMITTED ON A PLUMBING PERMIT <br /> WITH THE MINIMUM FEE OF $50.00 <br /> SPECIALTY CONTRACTORS WHO ARE EXEMPT FROM STATE LICENSING <br /> REQUIREMENTS MUST OBTAIN A CITY LICENSE.
