The building will include 124 units of family and workforce <br /> rental housing with rents affordable to households earning less than 60 percent of the area median <br /> income, or $49,200. It will also include commercial space. <br /> • ArtCube, Minneapolis—$400,000 to help create a mixed-use development with 45 mixed-income units <br /> for living and working and commercial space for neighborhood-oriented services, a large arts incubator <br /> space and a rooftop farm. The site has long been vacant and has connections to the Farmers' Market. <br /> • Emanuel Housing, Minneapolis—$488,170 to assist with a 100-unit mixed-use renovation and new <br /> construction project providing apartments and services for very low-income residents. Located near an LRT <br /> stop and several bus lines, Emanuel Housing is designed to be environmentally friendly and has good <br /> access to employment, retail, service and civic opportunities. <br /> • Schmidt Brewery, St. Paul—$1,250,000 to assist in the renovation the Schmidt Brewery Brew House <br /> into apartments and townhomes for living and working. The project will revitalize and preserve vacant <br /> historic structures, provide green space, diversify the housing options in the neighborhood and provide <br /> new street connections to create a unique integration of artist workshops, retail space and housing. <br /> • Currie Park Lofts, Minneapolis—$433,771 to help make way for a new mixed-use, mixed-income <br /> building that will provide housing and jobs near the Cedar-Riverside Hiawatha LRT station and near the <br /> Central Corridor West Bank LRT station. The building will include 260 rental housing units, including <br /> affordable units, a parking ramp and commercial and community space. <br /> • The Enclave Trails, Apple Valley—$174,800 to help in the construction of a high-density, 240-unit <br /> apartment building, including affordable units within close proximity to the Cedar Avenue Bus Rapid Transit <br /> corridor and the mixed-use Central Village area. The project will include important connections between <br /> housing and future development to the Apple Valley Transit Station. <br /> • Steeple Center Senior Housing, Rosemount—$440,000 to help redevelop a portion of St. Joseph's <br /> Church complex into a 70-unit senior housing project and a public senior center to adjoin the newly <br /> renovated Steeple Center. The project will integrate multiple uses and strengthen Rosemount's downtown. <br /> • Midland Terrace Redevelopment, Shoreview—$655,000 to help expand the City's largest apartment <br /> community by demolishing the underused Midland Plaza retail center and building 108 market-rate <br /> apartments next to existing affordable units. The project will address new and changing market demands <br /> and serve as an example of staging development to modernize housing. <br /> • Urban Village Connectivity, Woodbury—$860,572 to help create a retail/service center for the southern <br /> portion of the city, including retail, service and office space, higher density residential and public gathering <br /> spaces, with the potential for a future park-and-ride or other transit facilities. Housing will include senior <br /> rental, affordable and market-rate units, including family townhomes. The project will also include <br /> commercial, restaurant and office space with access to the nearby sports complex. <br /> • Cobblestone Lakes Senior Housing & Parks Improvement, Apple Valley —$896,000 to help build a <br /> 214-unit senior complex and complete planned park amenities, which will help stimulate future multi- <br /> family housing and/or mixed-use development on the western side of the Cobblestone Lake development. <br /> • 9805 Highway 55 Apartments, Plymouth—$750,000 to help build a 157-unit apartment near the <br /> intersection of Highways 169 and 55, including market rate and workforce housing near job opportunities. <br /> The project is located near a wetland and incorporates green elements, including a partial green roof and a <br /> solar-ready roof system. <br /> • City Walk Apartments, Woodbury—$78,000 to help build apartments for people with disabilities and <br /> lower incomes within City Walk, a planned community that is already home to more than 500 units of <br /> market-rate housing, retail, commercial, education and recreational amenities. The project will provide <br /> housing affordability in a walkable neighborhood with good access to jobs and that incorporates green <br /> elements. <br /> • Downtown Redevelopment Phase II, Watertown—$240,687 to help expand a senior housing <br /> complex in the City's downtown, adding about 16 housing units for housing, amenities and parking to <br /> increase life-cycle housing opportunities. <br /> • Redevelopment Initiative, Mahtomedi—$1,030,000 to help redevelop an abandoned restaurant site <br /> into a 72-unit, mixed income senior housing complex, serving as a catalyst for reinvestment in downtown <br /> Mahtomedi and Willernie, and provide a pedestrian link to connect downtown with area trails, transit and <br /> 2 of 3 12/30/2011 10:04 AM <br />
