BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE EDA MEETING OF <br /> MONDAY, APRIL 9, 2012 <br /> 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Staff recommends approval of the minutes from the March 12, 2012, EDA Meeting as <br /> presented. <br /> 4. XCEL ENERGY INC. <br /> Xcel Energy Inc., received site plan approval from the City Council for a 20,000 square <br /> foot training center on April 2, 2012. Construction is planned to start in May. Staff <br /> invited Lynn Patzner from Xcel Energy Inc. to the EDA meeting to talk about the project <br /> and Xcel's economic development efforts. Staff recommends that the EDA welcome <br /> Xcel Energy as a new business in the community. <br /> 5. UPDATE IN 2012 ROAD PROJECTS /INFRASTRUCTURE <br /> IMPROVEMENTS <br /> Staff will present the 2012 road projects and infrastructure improvements to the EDA. <br /> 6. DISCUSSION ON BUSINESS REGULATIONS AND INCENTIVES <br /> There have been several ordinances, policies, and programs implemented in the City over <br /> the last couple years to help Hugo become a more business friendly community. At the <br /> March 2012 EDA meeting staff was asked to provide a summary of the business <br /> regulations and items that effect businesses. Staff has enclosed a memo for the EDA to <br /> review. Staff will also present the information to the EDA at the meeting. <br /> 7. UPDATE ON DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT <br /> Staff will update the EDA on the progress of downtown redevelopment. <br />
