r <br /> City Council meeting of July 18, 2005 <br /> Page 5 <br /> UPDATE ON WATER LEVEL OF RICE LAKE (JULY 8,2005 DNR MEETING) <br /> On Friday, July 8, 2005, Mayor Fran Miron and City Administrator Mike Ericson attended a meeting at <br /> the MnDNR's office, along with RCWD officials. Mayor Fran Miron provided Council with an update <br /> on the discussions regarding the water levels of Rice Lake and stated that another meeting will be held at <br /> some future time with DNR Commissioner Brad Moore. <br /> Haas made motion, Puleo seconded, directing City staff, City Attorney Dave Snyder, and Council <br /> members Frank Puleo and Mike Granger to attend the future meeting. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> AUTHORIZATION TO RECEIVE BIDS FOR DEMOLITION OF WATER TOWER <br /> In the summer 2004, Council agreed to delay receipt of bids for the demolition of water tower#1 until <br /> the Public Works Department had completed its move out of the old City Hall and the Washington <br /> County Sheriff's Department had an opportunity to relocate its communication equipment. Public <br /> Works Director Chris Petree stated that the tower has not been in service for three years and is in need of <br /> maintenance, inside and out. Council member Granger stated that the City should get some firm <br /> numbers as to future costs to the City should the tower remain standing, as well as getting a <br /> recommendation from the Historical Commission. <br /> Miron made motion, Granger seconded, to table this matter to allow the Historical Commission to make <br /> a recommendation for Council consideration. City staff is directed to obtain a quote to paint and <br /> preserve the tower, as well as itemize ongoing costs, including insurance. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> AUTHORIZATION TO RECEIVE BIDS FOR DEMOLITION OF OLD CITY HALL <br /> Since January 2005, the City's old city hall has been vacant and is currently used as a storage space for <br /> the City's building inspection trucks and a satellite office for engineering inspection crews from WSB <br /> Engineers. As Council is aware, the west side of the roof is in very poor condition and has resulted in <br /> extensive water damage and mold and mildew inside the building. <br /> Granger made motion, Puleo seconded, directing staff to receive bids for the demolition of the old city <br /> hall building. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AND VARIANCE REQUESTS FOR CINGULAR WIRELESS <br /> TELECOMMUNICATIONS TOWER(15380 KEYSTONE AVENUE NORTH -BRANDT <br /> PROPERTY) <br /> Cingular Wireless is proposing the construction of a 190-foot high communications tower located near <br />
