DISCUSSION OF EGG LAKE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN <br /> The City staff provided the EDA with an update of progress toward the purchase <br /> of the Powell Residence and the old antique store. In addition,the staff has been <br /> working with three companies who are interested in constructing senior housing <br /> as a part of the Egg Lake Plan. The staff presented this information to the EDA. <br /> 6. DISCUSSION OF DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT <br /> The staff has had recent discussions with key property owners in the downtown <br /> area and is ready to proceed with direction from the EDA to initiate a TIF District <br /> for areas near the downtown. The staff will update the EDA with the latest <br /> information related to the Downtown Design Guidelines. The staff also is <br /> prepared to initiate a Market Study for the downtown. The staff presented <br /> redevelopment ideas to the EDA from a major development company. <br /> Klein made motion, Skarich seconded to invite the developer to make a <br /> presentation at the July 18, 2005 meeting. <br /> Miron made motion, Klein seconded to direct staff to invite Marvin LaValle and <br /> Pete Sampair to the meeting. <br /> All aye. UPDATE ON EAST METRO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FORUM <br /> On June 16, 2005, City Administrator Mike Ericson, CD Director Bryan Bear <br /> EDA members, Klein, Miron, Bever and Arcand as well as Council members and <br /> HBA members attended the forum at the Machine Shed Restaurant in Lake Elmo. <br /> Staff and EDA members shared information from the meeting. <br /> 8.
