MDEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION
September 19, 2017
Rachel Juba
City Planner City of Hugo
14669 Fitzgerald Avenue
Hugo, MN 55038
SUBJECT: Everton Avenue Neighborhood Study
MnDOT Review # FAUAR17-001
Metropolitan District
1500 County Road B2 West
Roseville, MN 55113
Area West of US 61 from Frenchman Road to 165th Street North
Hugo, Washington County
Control Section 8206
Dear Ms. Juba:
Thank you for the opportunity to review the Everton Avenue Neighborhood Study. MnDOT's staff has
reviewed the document and has the following comments:
Design
No design concerns with this current plan. Should the City want to propose any changes that would
affect TH 61 in the future, please contact the Dmitry Tomasevich, the Area Engineer, and work with
MnDOT to ensure that there is a coordinated plan.
For questions regarding these comments please contact Nancy Jacobson at 651-234-7647 or
Nancy.L. Jacobsongstate.mn.us.
Bicycle and pedestrian
The proposed AUAR appears to take all the current and proposed bicycle and pedestrian trails and
routes into consideration. However, the Trail and Sidewalk Plan (Figure 3) shows the already
established Hardwood Creek Regional Trail as a snowmobile trail and not a regional trail. MnDOT
suggests that designation be changed.
For questions regarding these comment please contact Cameron Muhic 651-234-7797
Cameron. Muhicgstate.mn.us
Review Submittal Options:
MnDOT's goal is to complete the review of plans within 30 days. Submittals sent in electronically can
usually be turned around faster. There are four submittal options. Please submit either:
1. One (1) electronic pdf. version of the plans. MnDOT can accept the plans via e-mail at
metrodevreviews.dot&state.mn.us provided that each separate e-mail is under 20 megabytes.
2. Three (3) sets of full size plans.
