Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for February 5,2018 <br /> Page 9 of 10 <br /> Miron agreed saying it would be easier to turn it over to the County, but it may not be the right <br /> thing to do. <br /> Haas agreed the City should keep its own assessor. He stated that when imposing regulations <br /> and rules on the public, it is best to have accountability at the local level. The city can play a <br /> valuable part in mitigating the effects of the County and State. <br /> Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to direct staff to negotiate an agreement with Chase <br /> Peloquin for Council approval. <br /> All Ayes. Motion carried. <br /> Update on Yellow Ribbon Network <br /> Council Member Chuck Haas and Phil Klein reported to Council on the Yellow Ribbon Network <br /> activities held recently. The YRN fulfilled a request from a Gold Star Mother for a donation to the <br /> MN Fallen Hero Children's Educational Foundation. They also helped fund car repairs for a Gold <br /> Star Family in White Bear Lake. Financial help was provided to the family of an MN National <br /> Guard member who had been in an accident. Household repairs were provided to a disabled veteran <br /> and the YRN was able to connect him with the MN Disabled Veterans Association. They raised <br /> donations for a stationary bike for a veteran recovering from knee surgery. He thanked the Benevity <br /> Community Impact Fund for their $191 donation and Xcel Energy for their $300 raised as part of <br /> their Dollars for Doing program. Girl Scouts are lining up cookie donations for care packages, and <br /> the YRN also received donations from the Ramsey County Sheriff s Office. The Bald Eagle <br /> Sportsmen Association will be the February Burger Night Sponsor. <br /> Cancel Second Meeting in February Due to President's Day Holiday <br /> Annually, the President's Day Holiday falls on the same day as the second Council meeting in <br /> February and would need to be rescheduled. City Administrator Bryan Bear stated that staff did <br /> not anticipate any items for a second meeting in February and recommended Council cancel their <br /> meeting on February 19, 2018. <br /> Miron made motion, Klein seconded, to cancel the meeting on February 19, 2018, due to the <br /> Presidents Day Holiday. <br /> All Ayes. Motion carried. <br /> Comprehensive Plan Open House on Monday,February 26, 2018 <br /> City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded Council of the Comprehensive Plan Open House on <br /> Monday, February 26, 2018 at 7 p.m. The Open House will be held in the Council Chambers at <br /> Hugo City Hall. <br /> HBA Business Breakfast/Mayor State of the City Address on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 <br /> City Administrator Bryan Bear informed Council that the Hugo Area Business Association will <br /> hold a Business Networking Breakfast at the Blue Heron Grill on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, <br /> from 7:30-9:00 a.m. Mayor Weidt will deliver the State of the City Address. <br />
