00 <br />14654 Fitzgerald Avenue North - Hugo, MN 55038 <br />Call to Order <br />Mayor Weidt called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />MINUTES <br />HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />HUGO CITY HALL <br />MONDAY, APRIL 2, 2018 — 7 P.M. <br />PRESENT: Haas (via Skype), Klein, Miron, Petryk, Weidt <br />ABSENT: None <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Bryan Bear, City Attorney Dave Snyder, City Engineer <br />Mark Erichson, Landform Planner Kendra Lindahl, Planner Rachel Juba, Parks Planner Shayla <br />Denaway, and City Clerk Michele Lindau <br />Minutes for the March 19, 2018 City Council Meeting <br />Klein made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the minutes for the City Council meeting on <br />March 19, 2018, as presented. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Approval of the Agenda <br />Weidt made motion, Haas seconded, to approve the agenda as presented. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried <br />Stillwater School District Update- Superintendent Denise Pontrelli <br />Stillwater School Superintendent Denise Pontrelli provided the Council an update on things <br />happening in the Stillwater School District. She talked about their work on the next strategic plan <br />and things that have been happening since the creation of the Bridge of Excellence Plan five years <br />ago. She provided information about the district's priorities moving forward and things they are <br />doing through partnerships. <br />Miron talked about transition and asked about where the former Withrow School students were <br />going to school. Pontrelli responded that, from looking at demographics, Lake Elmo and <br />Woodbury were growing. The district was interested in selling the Withrow School, but there <br />were no definite plans, and they are not actively pursuing what they will be done with it. They <br />were in the process of selling the school in Marine on St. Croix. She added that many students <br />have opened enrolled in other schools. <br />Weidt recalled the Stillwater School District speaking to the Council a few years ago about <br />supporting their levy, and he felt they were blindsided by the sale of Withrow. He asked for <br />transparency. He talked about the sale of the playground equipment without the City being <br />informed, and he asked her what she would have done differently. Pontrelli replied that for <br />
