Property Rezoning from <br />Neighborhood Service (NS) to General Business (C-2) <br />TGK Automotive. Site Plan review for an 11,270 square foot auto repair <br />building located at 13891 Forest Boulevard North <br />DATE: June 29, 2018, for the City Council Meeting on July 2, 2018 <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN: Commercial (COM) <br />ZONING: Neighborhood Service (NS) <br />REVIEW DEADLINE: July 28, 2018 <br />1. PLANNING COMMISSION UPDATE: <br />The Planning Commission held a public hearing and consider the requests at its Thursday, June <br />28, 2018, meeting. There was one resident, besides the applicants, that spoke at the public <br />hearing. The applicants thanked the Commission for considering the their requests. The resident <br />asked about the hours of operation, the proposed lighting for the site, and the proposed turn lane <br />on Highway 61. Staff stated that the lighting met the ordinance standards and they are required to <br />be downcast light fixtures. Staff also stated that MnDOT is requiring a northbound right turn lane <br />with the development. The applicant stated that the hours of operation will likely be 7 a.m. to 6 <br />p.m. Monday - Friday, and possibly 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday. The Planning commission <br />was comfortable with the rezoning requests for the five properties. They also liked the site plan <br />and the architecture of the building. The Planning Commission unanimously recommended <br />approval of the resolution and ordinance for the rezoning application and approval of the <br />resolution for the site plan application. <br />
