RECIPROCAL EMERGENCY SERVICES AGREEMENT <br />In an effort to provide the best possible emergency services and automatic response to <br />reported structure and building fires for residents, the City of White Bear Lake Fire <br />Department, and the City of Hugo Fire Department, have entered into this agreement to <br />make equipment, personnel and other resources available to both departments. <br />1. "Party" means the City of White Bear Lake Fire Department or the City of Hugo <br />Fire Department. <br />2. "Requesting Official" means the person designated by a Party who is responsible for <br />requesting Assistance from the other Party. <br />3. "Requesting Party" means a Party that requests assistance from the other Party. <br />4. "Responding Official" means the person designated by a Party who is responsible to <br />determine whether and to what extent that Party should provide assistance to a <br />Requesting Party. <br />5. "Responding Party" means a Party that provides assistance to a Requesting Party. <br />6. "Assistance" means fire/rescue and/or emergency medical services personnel and <br />equipment. <br />1. Request for Assistance. <br />Whenever, in the opinion of a Requesting Official, there is a need for assistance from the <br />other Party, the Requesting Official may call upon the Responding Official of the other <br />Party to furnish assistance. <br />2. Response to Request. <br />Upon the request for assistance from a Requesting Party, the Responding Official may <br />authorize and direct his or her Party's personnel to provide assistance to the Requesting <br />Party. This decision will be made after considering the needs of the Responding Party <br />and the availability of resources. <br />3. Automatic Assistance. <br />If either Party receives notice of a reported structure or building fire within the coverage <br />areas of the Cities of White Bear Lake, White Bear Township, Gem Lake, Dellwood, <br />Birchwood, Hugo, without first receiving a request from the other Party, that Party will <br />automatically dispatch assistance to the scene. The automatic dispatch may include an <br />engine, tender, crew, and a chief officer if he or she is available. <br />
