<br />Page 1 of 3 <br />Parks Commission Minutes <br />June 20, 2018 <br /> <br />Minutes <br />Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Commission <br />Meeting of June 20, 2018 <br />Hugo City Hall, 7:00 pm <br /> <br />Present: Cathy Moore – Arcand, Ranell Tennyson, Mat Rauschendorfer, Nicole Schmid, Dave Strub <br /> <br />Absent: Roger Clarke <br /> <br />Staff Present: Shayla Denaway, Parks Planner <br /> Rachel Juba, Community Development Director <br /> Pierre Giguere, Community Development Intern <br /> Debi Close, Secretary <br /> <br />Strub called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. <br /> <br />1. Approval of Minutes from the May 16, 2018 Meeting <br /> <br />Tennyson made a motion, Moore-Arcand seconded to approve the minutes of the May 16, 2018 Parks <br />Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Ayes: Moore – Arcand, Tennyson, Schmid, Strub <br />Abstained: Rauschendorfer <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />2. Lions Park Playground Proposals <br /> <br />Four propoals were presented for a playground to replace the current structure in Lions Park. The presenters <br />highlighted safety, durability, vandalism, accessibility, ability to be relocated, materials used and number of <br />play areas. All of the proposed playgrounds met the basic requirements of a $100,000 budget, fitting on the <br />site, and including equipment for 2-5 year olds. The presenters were as follows: <br /> <br />• Harlan Lehman, Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground presenting Gametime Equipment <br /> <br />• Jordan Hedlund, Flagship Play presenting Landscape Structures Equipment <br /> <br />• Mike Basich, St. Croix Recreation presenting Burke Equipment <br /> <br />• Andrew Pudwill, Ultimate Playground presenting Kompan Equipment
