/\A.1 <br />Michele Lindau <br />Subject: FW: Xcel Energy: Gas Response Training Village Grand Opening/October 17th <br />Hi Mayor Tom, <br />I believe Michele Lindau and/or Bryan Bear have already mentioned to you that we will be hosting a grand opening <br />event at our Hugo Training Center for our recently completed gas emergency response training village site. Here are the <br />event details: <br />Wednesday — October 171n <br />1:00 to 3:00 PM <br />Hugo Training Center <br />13620 Fenway Boulevard North <br />The program will begin at 1:15 PM with the following speakers. We would like to ask you to say a few remarks during <br />the program (if you were planning to be in attendance). Here is our program line-up. <br />Kevin Joyce, Xcel Energy Director of Gas Emergency Response — Event Emcee <br />Kent Larson, Xcel Energy Executive Vice President & Group President of Operations <br />The Honorable Tom Weidt, Mayor of Hugo (if you are able to attend the event) <br />Luke Litteken, Xcel Energy Senior Vice President of Gas <br />Formal community & Xcel Energy leadership photographs <br />Ribbon cutting ceremony (involving Hugo Business Association, WBL Area Chamber and Vadnais Heights Economic <br />Development Corporation) <br />Mock drill exercise involving the Washington County sheriff's department & local area fire departments (including Hugo <br />fire department) <br />I took the liberty of gathering up some "fun facts" about our training center and wanted to supply them to you in case <br />you'd like to include any of this information with your event remarks: <br />Useful Facts Regarding the Hugo Training Facility: <br />• 42,500 Square Foot Structure on 10 acres. <br />• $10.5 million training center includes classrooms and multiple indoor and outdoor areas for training both <br />underground and electric distribution and transmission equipment and natural gas pipelines and equipment. <br />• 2000+ employees from Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota and Michigan attend some form of <br />training annually at our training center. <br />• This facility spends 57k+ a year at local restaurants and stores for food for trainees <br />• Attendees to training spend 800+ nights in area hotels <br />If you have any questions, my work telephone number is (651) 779-3105. We are anticipating a turn -out in the range of <br />100-150 local attendees.
