Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for October 1,2018 <br /> Page 7 of 8 <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Discussion on parking issues <br /> Kari McDermaid, 6110 150th Street North, stated she was concerned about the parking along <br /> 150th Street and Generation Avenue stating only one car can pass through on the streets since <br /> cars are parked on both sides. There was also a vehicle with a 5th wheel that had sliders extended <br /> on it that was parked on the dark corner and was hard to see at night. <br /> Weidt thanked her for coming forward, and Bear stated staff would follow up on this complaint. <br /> RCWD—Waller <br /> John Waller, 14010 Homestead Avenue, provided information on the 2018 Watershed District <br /> Tax by municipality. He stated that the District plans on increasing the budget, and he voted <br /> against it because not enough money is coming back to the city. He talked about the increase in <br /> the administrator's salary, but no increase in the money going back into Hugo. He talked about <br /> when the district was created in 1974. There were plans at that time to fix White Bear Lake, and <br /> taxes had been paid in and nothing was done. Waller stated he was asking the cities to look at <br /> what they are paying in to the system and find a way to have some oversight. <br /> Yellow Ribbon Network Update <br /> Council Member Chuck Haas and Council Member Phil Klein reported to Council on the Yellow <br /> Ribbon Network activities held recently. Haas shared photos including "thank yous" and a <br /> military family that received tickets to the Minnesota Wild game, which were donated by <br /> Keystone Place. They talked about the fundraiser BBQ held on Saturday, and Haas thanked the <br /> Fry Group. The YRN also received a thank you from the Veteran's Camp on Big Marine Lake <br /> for donations to their picnic. There was a military family youth hunt supported by Wild Wings, <br /> and he thanked all the contributors. Muller Memorial was the burger night sponsor, and there <br /> were 233 burgers served. <br /> White Bear Area Chamber Business Awards on Tuesday, October 2,2018 <br /> City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded Council that a meeting was scheduled to attend the <br /> 2018 Business &Achievement Awards on October 2, 2018, at the Keller Golf Course, 2166 <br /> Maplewood Drive, Maplewood.
