BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE EDA MEETING OF <br />TUESDAY, April 19, 2016 <br />3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Staff recommends approval of the minutes from the February 16, 2016, EDA meeting as presented. <br />4. PARK DENTAL <br />Park Dental currently occupies space in the Victor Gardens South Village shopping center. At its August <br />3, 2015, meeting the City Council approved the site plan for a 8,100 square foot building for Park Dental <br />on the property west of Kwik Trip. Park Dental held its ground breaking on April 15, 2016 and is <br />expected to be open this Fall. Jan Tiffany, Marking/Business Development for Park Dental will be <br />present at the meeting. Staff recommends that the EDA welcome Park Dental. <br />5. KIDZ N' BIZ SPONSORSHIP REOUEST <br />On April 30, 2016, the 120' Annual Kidz n' Biz Fest will be take place at Oneka Elementary School. <br />This annual event is an opportunity for the HBA and Hugo EDA to directly connect with the Hugo <br />families and children in a PTA Carnival atmosphere. This event is expected to attract more than 500 <br />Hugo children and their families and will feature an assortment of games presented by the Hugo <br />businesses with assistance from the White Bear School District. Last year the EDA sponsored the event <br />in the amount of $750. The HBA is asking for the EDA to sponsor in that same amount again this year. <br />6. UPDATE ON THE FUTURE OF THE RAIL LINE <br />Staff will update the EDA on the rail line. <br />7. UPDATE ON DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT <br />Staff will provide an update to the EDA on downtown redevelopment. <br />
