BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE EDA MEETING OF <br />TUESDAY, DECEMBER 20, 2016 <br />3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Staff recommends approval of the minutes from the November 15, 2016, EDA meeting as presented. <br />4. PRESENTATION ON 2016 BUILDING REPORT <br />The building report is created yearly to review planning and building activity that occurred in the past <br />year. This information helps put the last year into perspective and helps the City plan for the future. <br />Community Development Assistant, Rachel Leitz, will present on the 2016 building report. <br />5. UPDATE ON THE 2040 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN PROCESS <br />The Comprehensive Plan is a document that guides development for the City over the next 20 years. It <br />is required to be completed every 10 years and submitted to the Met Council for review and approval. <br />The Comp Plan is required to be submitted to the Met Council in December 2018, following a 6 month <br />review of adjacent jurisdictions. Planner, Rachel Juba, will give an update to the EDA on the <br />Comprehensive Plan process. <br />6. DISCUSSION ON 2017 EDA GOALS <br />Enclosed are the 2016 EDA Goals. The EDA will discuss and create goals for 2017. <br />7. UPDATE ON DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT <br />Staff will provide an update to the EDA on downtown redevelopment. <br />
