2040 Future Roadway Capacity <br />Improvement Needs <br />To identify the need for potential future capacity improvements, 2040 <br />forecasts were compared to planning -level roadway capacities for <br />Principal and A -Minor Arterial roadways. Planning -level roadway <br />capacities used for this analysis were illustrated previously in Table <br />8-4. Existing capacity issues are expected to continue, with constraint <br />issues along TH 61, south of Frenchman Road (CSAH 8) and <br />Frenchman Road (CSAH 8),135E to TH 61. <br />For TH 61 the Corridor Study prepared by the City in coordination <br />with Washington County and MnDOT, a plan showing a future four <br />lane facility with turn lanes and traffic control was prepared. As traffic <br />continues to grow funding should be identified for these improvements. <br />For Frenchman Road (CSAH 8) these issues will be evaluated with the <br />Washington County 2040 Transportation Plan. <br />The forecasted 2040 traffic volumes for the City of Hugo are depicted <br />on Figure 8-7. These volumes were used to identify roadway needs <br />to meet future travel demand levels. Needs can be categorized as a <br />design/capacity of new roadways or upgrades for existing facilities. <br />Roadway needs are summarized in Table 8-11. <br />� r <br />HCT 2040 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE TRANSPORTATION 186 <br />
