One of the trucks will replace Unit CV2, a 2008 Chevy Silverado, which is the Deputy Chiefs vehicle. CV2 is <br />used to respond to calls and attend meetings. This truck is being replaced now due to numerous mechanical issues and <br />expensive repairs that were needed to maintain the vehicle. The 2008 Chevy Silverado will then be sold. The blue book <br />value of the 2008 Chevy Silverado is $12,476.00. <br />The other new truck will replace Unit U1, a 2006 Chevy Silverado, which is the Utility vehicle. U1 is used to respond to <br />medical calls where heavy equipment is not needed for rescue. The 2006 Chevy Silverado will then be sold. The blue <br />book value of the 2006 Chevy Silverado is $11,338.00. <br />The trucks being purchased are both 2019 Ford F-150 4x4 Crew Cabs and are being purchased from Midway Ford <br />through the Cooperative Purchasing Venture (CPV), assuring the City a fair and discounted price of $41,845.76 and <br />$31,846.92. An additional $14,000.00 will be needed to get the new CV2 vehicle ready for use, and an additional <br />$8,000.00 will be needed to get the new U1 ready for use. These additional costs include lights, sirens, IPad mount <br />installation, new mobile radios, graphics, etc. <br />The cost for these vehicles are as expected and staff has budgeted appropriately for the replacements. <br />Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the purchase of two 2019 Ford F-150 44 Crew Cab pickup trucks <br />through the State of Minnesota CPV for a price of $41,845.76 and $31,846.92. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Price quotes from Midway Ford <br />
