The contract amount will remain
$6,000 for FY 2019. Attached to this letter you will find a statistical grid/market value statement of
services provided to your citizens in 2017. Attachment A of the contract includes an overview of
services/programs available to Hugo residents.
Once the city budget for 2019 has been adopted, please sign and return a copy of the contract to me. I
will send a payment invoice to the city after January 1, 2019 or on a date specified by you.
There are many reasons that this crime prevention and public safety program warrants support from the
City of Hugo. LC4YF is the only comprehensive youth intervention program in our area, providing the
most extensive array of evidence -based supports and services for at -risk youth. We provide the
diversion alternative available to Hugo residents. Having this option available to at -risk youth actually
saves taxpayers money and contributes directly to the safety and wellbeing of Hugo residents and the
overall health of the community.
P The cost of providing our community justice services to area youth and their families for up to a year
is $750 per client. This includes access to educational classes, enrichment opportunities, parenting
support, and youth and family counseling. The average cost of a juvenile court case is $3,500 per
youth— and that does not count on -going supervision by probation staff and other resources.
In 2017, LC4YF provided early intervention, counseling and parenting services to 22 youth clients,
15 adults. We provided $20,915 in services to Hugo residents. Our program is efficient, effective, and
it works! 89% of youth who complete our services do not re -offend. Parents also get the support
they need to help keep their child moving in the right direction.
Your continued contract with LC4YF has a life -changing impact on youth offenders, victims, and family
members. Thank you.
Attachments
Cl
ow
Council'
MEETS
STAND D:
emrtpirtrs.org,
