This policy would apply
to employees who hold CDLs (Commercial Drivers Licenses) for the purpose of carrying out
"safety-sensitive duties"using City vehicles. This policy does not pertain to firefighters.
The Drug and Alcohol Testing for Commercial Drivers Policy would require CDL holders to be
part of a pool of drivers that will be subject to unannounced alcohol and controlled substance
testing on a random selection basis. In addition to approval of the Drug and Alcohol Testing
Policy, staff requested Council approve moving certain items from the Motor Vehicle Policy to
the general Personnel Policy and eliminating the rest of that policy that does not apply. Adoption
of the Consent Agenda approved the Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy for Commercial Drivers,
elimination of the Motor Vehicle Safety Policy, and revisions to the Personnel Policy.
Approve Special Event Permit for Oneka Elementary 5K Color Run
The Oneka Elementary School had requested a Special Event Permit for their annual 5K Color
Run on Saturday, May 4, 2019. This run will take place along Oneka Parkway between Oneka Elementary and
Frenchman Road. The event had been held for the past three years with no impacts to the health,
safety, and welfare of residents or participants. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the
Special Event Permit for the Color Fun Run subject to the conditions in the staff memo.
Approve Cost-Share Agreement with RCWD for Waters Edge Stormwater Reuse Phase II
Construction of the I"Phase of the Water's Edge stormwater reuse system was completed and put
into service in July of 2018.
