Four bids were received. The bids were checked for mathematical <br />accuracy. Please find enclosed the bid summary indicating the low bid as submitted by Dresel <br />Contracting, Inc., Chisago City, Minnesota the amount of $2,650,716.57. The Engineer's <br />Estimate was $2,814,416.00. <br />Dresel Contracting did not submit the Bidders Acknowledgement of Notice to Bidders, a <br />document indicating items traditionally included in the project manual are now available over the <br />internet. Dresel contracting immediately provided the signed document when notified it was <br />missing from their bid submittal. City Attorney Snyder indicated he did not believe that this <br />omission would materially affect the outcome of the bid or furnish any advantage to the bidder in <br />not having supplied it in a signed form until after the bids were opened. He did not believe it <br />should be construed as disqualifying. <br />We recommend that the City Council consider these bids and award a contract in the amount of <br />$2,650,716.57 to Dresel Contracting, Inc. based on the results of the bids received. <br />Sincerely, <br />WSB <br />` .
