Request for site plan approval for a climate controlled self -storage building and a front yard setback variance for the property located at 5560 152nd Street North. DATE: September 12, 2019, for the City Council Meeting of September 16, 2019 ZONING: General Industrial (1-3) LAND USE: Industrial (I) 120-DAY REVIEW DEADLINE: October 9, 2019 The Planning Commission will consider this request on Thursday, September 12, 2019. Staff will provide an update to the City Council of the Planning Commission discussion and recommendation at its Monday, September 16, 2019, meeting. 1. UPDATE FROM AUGUST 22, 2019, PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING: Staff provided background on the request and recommended that the item be tabled to allow the applicant to work with staff on the architecture and building material. The Planning Commission recommended that the project be completed in one phase and that the applicant work with staff on revisions to ensure the proposed building is cohesive with the existing buildings on the property. The Planning Commission tabled the request until September 12, 2019. The applicant has been working with staff over the last couple weeks on the items outlined in the staff report and as recommended by the Planning Commission. The applicant has revised the plan to include the following: • The project will be completed in one phase. • The tip -up concrete panel colors have been revised to match the rock -faced block colors on the existing buildings.
