Minutes <br />Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Commission <br />Meeting of December 19, 2018 <br />Hugo City Hall, 7:00 pm <br />Present: Dave Strub, Roger Clarke, Shawn Haag, Cathy Moore — Arcand, Matt Rauschendorfer, Ranell <br />Tennyson <br />Absent: Nicole Schmid <br />Staff Present: Shayla Denaway, Parks Planner <br />Debi Close, Secretary <br />Strub called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. <br />1. Approval of Minutes from the November 14, 2018 Meeting <br />Tennyson made a motion, Moore — Arcand seconded to approve the minutes of the November 14, 2018 <br />Parks Commission meeting. <br />All Aye. <br />Motion carried. <br />2. 2019 Goal Setting <br />Shayla Denaway, Parks Planner reviewed the 2018 Goals of the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space <br />Commission. The Commission discussed goals for 2019 including: <br />Manage and optimize all existing parks and trails, develop a network of multipurpose trails by connecting to <br />neighborhoods parks and open spaces, utilize facilities to provide active and passive recreation, <br />strengthen/build partnerships while evaluating existing programs and exploring new options, include <br />programing to meet the diverse needs of Hugo residents, review the Lions Park master plan and feasibility <br />study, evaluate vegetation management at Clearwater Creek Preserve and Irish Avenue Park, and actively <br />utilize the Comprehensive plan. <br />Moore — Arcand made a motion, Clarke seconded to approve the 2019 Goals as written. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried <br />3. 2019-2023 Capital Improvement Planning <br />
