ACOMPREHENSIVE SANITARY <br />SEWER PLAN <br />2040 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE DRAFT Dec14-17 <br />for review only <br />Land Use Breakdown <br />The current and 2040 land use plan for the City of Hugo is described in Chapter 4 of this Comprehensive Plan� This plan was developed by <br />the City and separates the planning area into 11 different land use categories� Land use is a critical factor in determining future sanitary sewer <br />alignments and sizes because different land uses generate different wastewater flow rates. Table 11-1 presents the current City land use <br />breakdown and the associated abbreviations� <br />Gravity Sanitary Sewer <br />The City of Hugo’s gravity sanitary sewer system is in good condition overall and consists of 8- to 18-inch diameter vitrified clay pipe (VCP), <br />acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), reinforced concrete pipe (RCP), ductile iron pipe (DIP), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic sewer pipe� The <br />original sanitary sewer system was constructed in the 1970’s and included two lift stations� Following the initial construction, the majority of the <br />system has been constructed within the past 30 years� <br />The gravity sanitary sewers are directed to several connection points to the MCES interceptors described in Section 4 that conveys wastewater <br />to the Metropolitan WWTP� The existing gravity sanitary sewer collection system (8-inch diameter and larger) and the MCES interceptors are <br />shown in Map 11-1� <br />Table 11-1 Land Use Summary <br />Land Use Designation Abbreviation <br />Agricultural AG <br />Business Park BP <br />Commercial COM <br />Industrial IND <br />Very Low Density Residential VLD <br />Low Density Residential LD <br />Medium Density Residential MD <br />High Density Residential HD <br />Large Lot Residential LL <br />Mixed Use MIX <br />Public/Quasi-Public PQ <br />Lift Stations <br />The City of Hugo’s sanitary sewer system includes ten lift stations <br />with pumping capacities that range between 90 gallons per minute <br />(gpm) and 515 gpm� The lift station capacities vary depending on the <br />demand within and size of their associated service area� <br />The locations of the existing lift stations are shown in Map 10-1, <br />and Table 10-2 summarizes capacity information for each of the lift <br />stations�
