Image Placeholder <br />52LAND USE2040 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE <br />DRAFT Dec14-17 <br />for review only <br />DRAFT Dec14-17 <br />for review only <br />DRAFT Dec14-17 <br />for review only <br />6 Encourage environmentally-friendly development in all areas to promote a sustainable land use <br />pattern <br />Objectives: <br />• Identify areas that would be suitable for conservation development� <br />• Support open space planning and use it to develop tools and techniques to support low impact <br />development alternatives� <br />• Work with land owners, developers and stakeholders to identify land that could contribute to <br />greenway corridors and stormwater management areas� <br />• Encourage development of land uses according to function, minimizing land use conflicts and/or <br />damage to the environment� <br />• Manage the allocation of residential units on a yearly basis, but averaged over a 5-year period, to <br />ensure land supply is not prematurely depleted and to ensure, wherever possible, even growth from <br />year to year� <br />• Spread area assessments only to lands that are imminently developable within the 2040 MUSA� <br />
