69LAND USE2040 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE <br />DRAFT Dec14-17 <br />for review only <br />DRAFT Dec14-17 <br />for review only <br />Public/Quasi-Public (PQ) <br />The Public Quasi-Public designation includes institutional uses such <br />as governmental uses, religious, educational uses and cemeteries, as <br />well as, public parks, conservatories and private recreation areas� <br />Minimum Area:Varies by particular use <br />City Utilities:Inside the MUSA: Required for all buildings,except park buildings without sanitary facilities <br />Outside the MUSA: None <br />Types of Development: <br />• Neighborhood parks, community playfields, special use parks and regional parks <br />• The large facilities that affect the overall land use pattern could include such things as golf <br />courses, etc� <br />• Schools, libraries, fire stations, community centers, public administrative offices and <br />maintenance shops, places of worship, correctional facilities, nursing care and hospital <br />facilities, and the like <br />Development Location Criteria: <br />• Specifications for public parks and open spaces are found in the Parks Chapter of the <br />Comprehensive Plan <br />• The variety of potential private recreation facilities makes size or location criteria a function of <br />specific proposed developments <br />• Public utilities sites should be located so that water, sewer, electricity, gas and other utilities <br />can be readily provided� <br />• Maintenance and outside storage facilities of an industrial character should not be located <br />adjacent to residential areas unless fully screenedImage Placeholder
