3 Lions Park is long overdue for a complete overhaul. Hugo has done well in acquiring two very
large public spaces (Clearwater Creek, Irish Park). At this point, it is my opinion that concentrating
on acquisition of trail corridors is of ultimate importance, as is continuing to work to obtain parkland
as development moves forward. Many of Hugo's roadways have no shoulders, and traffic moves
quickly. With more families moving into the city, we need a safe way for children and families to
ride together to enjoy the open spaces Hugo has acquired. Where I live, Goodview Avenue is very
dangerous (north of 120th, south of 145th). It is now a regular commuter corridor and, believe it or
not, has a LOT of bike traffic -- people we don't even know. On our bikes, we have had close calls
with speeding vehicles whose drivers do not move over and give us breathing room. I'm sure there
are other roads like that in the city as well.
8/29/2017 2:45 PM
4 Trash bins along existing trails would be great for those of us who run our digs and pick up after
them. Drinking fountains would be exceptional as well. The more running/walking route options the
better.
8/24/2017 6:16 PM
5 Upgrading old parks while kids grow. Beaver ponds hasn't gotten any updates as the kids get
older. Also... Nothing new was added with the addition of Fox Meadows. Except for one swing
upgrade......
8/24/2017 2:55 PM
6 Develop parks that are attractive but low maintenance.8/24/2017 7:19 AM
7 Dog park please!!!! :)8/23/2017 10:39 PM
8 Build a recreation center for: 1. community enrichment classes 2. Senior citizen meeting place 8/23/2017 10:13 PM
9 Don't get carried away with environmental issues. Keep taxes low.8/23/2017 9:42 PM
10 Mostly I would like more trails and hugo to be more connected by sidewalks and paths 8/23/2017 8:24 PM
11 Create walking trails along hwy 8 and county roads.8/23/2017 8:10 PM
12 Basketball court at Beaver Ponds Park 8/23/2017 7:05 PM
13 Create trails and safe walkways along busy County Roads 8/23/2017 6:45 PM
14 Parks within a safe walking biking distance without crossing major roads for kids 8/23/2017 1:17 PM
15 Dog waste containers!!8/23/2017 12:41 PM
16 Trails need to be maintained and expanded. Hugo is a great place for recreational trail riding for
biking, walking and inline skating.
8/23/2017 12:07 PM
14 / 14
Copy of Parks and Trails Survey
